Superb Antique VERY RARE Large Musical Swiss Black Forest Bear Whip Hook Glass Eyes Circa 1880. We are very happy and delighted to offer for sale this stunning original circa 1880 Swiss made Black Forest carved wood musical whip hook of a Bear with original glass eyes A very rare find, this is an extra large whip hook, they come in varying sizes and this is a good size. The piece is marked on the back with a round metal medal that reads. Schurch, Patent 64442, Schloss Laufen. The music feature works by simply pulling down on the hooks, the idea being when you hang your "Whip" on the hook it would pull down and play a little tune, I guess to cheer you up after whipping something!
