Please read entire listing : this item was listed and then pulled to make a few corrections and additions to the description and to update a couple of pictures , and is now being re listed. This is the RAREST and hardest to find KERN AARAU Civilian Model Binocular by far. This item is one of my most favored in my personal collection. It is super rare , and it is priced accordingly (if it does not sell , Im happy to keep it). This Collectors Dream piece is in superb cosmetic condition / perfect for any serious collector looking for the hardest examples of the brand.
The binoculars are not perfect however (see description here , down a bit is discussed one small blemish in this piece / a flaw in a diamond IMHO)... So it has had at least 2 owners (sorry the ownership history is not known beyond this). It is as received , and has been in my collection a long time.
It is not perfect but the closest and best example of the Focalpin 6 that ive found in a number of decades collecting Swiss , and especially Kern optics / binoculars being the focus on the collection (pardon the pun which was intended). For Sale from private collection. Rare Swiss KERN AARAU of SWITZERLAND. Kern Aarau made 3 different Sizes / Variants of the Famed FOCALPIN Design : a Focalpin 10 , Focalpin 7 , and this the smallest of the group , the Focalpin 6 (which is the most rare and hardest to find).
A really nice , rare example / usually on the top of the Collectors want list. Plus Swiss Made KERN AARAU.
Leather Case included (came with the binoculars as mentioned earlier). Pictures are of the item listed , and are part of its description. A Very Nice Example of one of Switzerlands Best Optical Designs. The KERN FOCALPIN Models (they made a Model 10, Model 7 , and a Model 6) are known to be one of the best Binoculars Ever Made (comparable to , and possible even better than Top of the Line Zeiss for example).
Both the binocular and case are in very good condition with very little signs of use normal wear. Please note : these is a small blemish on the top of the binocular case where these is some wear (see pictures). Other than this the Leather Case is in pretty good shape.
There is a ding / tiny chip on one of the internal optics of the left side it is not in the line of sight , and had not noticed this small imperfection until taking photos of this item today.... This Gem has been in my collection for many years , and this had been unnoticed.....This is a very rare gem IMHO , and is well worth consideration for any serious collector. It is not perfect (my eyes are not good enough to provide a full optical analysis) so please consider the piece based on my explaining it to the best of my ability to do so. Please Note : because of age , in order to put these binoculars into use , they may need to be cleaned and serviced / adjusted to have optimum optical performance...
Please Note : here is the chance to add the " Holly Grail " of Focalin Kern Binoculars to that collection. So it is really really a Rare gem of Swiss Optics.
