World War II era Universal Helvetia DH type, with Original Sub-Seconds Dial and High Helvetia Movement. World War II, German Army wristwatch made in Switzerland by Helvetia. This is what is commonly called a DH watch because of the method of serial numbering them; a capital D followed by numerals and then a capital H. This is a later type made by Helvetia as it has the serial number on the back of the case engraved as opposed to having been stamped in.
The back of the case is stamped with 3190 2. The inside of the case back is marked GENERAL WATCH CO.SWITZERLAND and with the movement serial number 41. This dates the watch to about 1942-43. The movement is 15 jewels, 82C-28.
The lugs are 18 mm apart. The case is approximately 33.5-34 mm diameter measured across the back cover and not including the crown. Nickel chrome plated case with solid Stainless Steel Screw-Back.
Aged Luminous Numbers and Matching Luminous Filled Hands. The numbers still glow a little in the dark.
Swiss Made, Helvetia with the great Caliber 82c. Manual Wind Movement with 15 jewels. This movement has been serviced - professionally cleaned/oiled.
It is running strong and keeping excellent time and reserve for its age. Dial - in 100% genuine original condition - NOT refinished. Please refer to the photos for exact condition.
Please note pictures show much more "spots and imperfections" than in reality because I used a macro lens. Actually, in reality it's looking much nicer.
In great and clear shape with no visible scratches. Seams to be the original one. The watch comes with a NEW Genuine high quality NATO strap and with a beautiful generic gift box. Please consider images being part of the description.
Thank you for your attention to my lots. The watchmaker sealed the caps so he will know for sure if the case was opened or not. Please note this watch is NOT waterproof. I provide large detailed images for your consideration so that you can make your own assessment of any watch's overall "condition". I will NOT identify every extra little sign of wear on any item in writing (that's what the photos are for), however I will try to point out significant points of interest (usually on the crystal) when/if photos fail to outline. I tried to describe the watch the best I could to my knowledge. To package the item very carefully. I don't want to send my watches to be opened by someone who I don't know or trust. Thank you for your understanding!
